Internship Network
The NJCMA Internship Network Program provides an opportunity for interns, working at various clubs within New Jersey, to network with fellow students interested in careers within club management.
The program is intern run and the interns had the sole responsibility for organizing the club tour events.Interns hosted each other at their respective clubs and gave tours of the different properties. The interns learned about the history of their clubs and were responsible for planning the tour. The purpose of the tours are to illustrate, to the interns, how different each club can be. Whether the difference was in sports programs, management, membership, facilities, or other amenities.
The interns are able to set the foundation for building strong relationships and networking opportunities for the future. The program, in its first year in 2009, started small with participation from 8 different clubs with interns from 5 different Universities. Each intern benefits from the program by broadening their knowledge of club management and making new friends in the process.
In the future we would like to see the program grow to include more interns from all different types of clubs. With growth in participation, the interns will be able to run events for the managers. This idea will benefit future interns for NJCMA.
