Accounting 101:Financial Statement Basics and Best Practices that Every Club Executive Should Know -Presented by Philip Newman, Partner with McGladry
Club Boards continue to expect greater financial understanding from their chief executive officers yet CMAA statistics consistently show that many club managers struggle more with this aspect of the business than any other. The session will review the basic financial statement concepts that managers in any business need to understand and will review best business practices to achieve financial success in your club operation.
Golf Operations 101 A guide for GMs of a Private Country/Golf Club .
Presented by Michael Leemius, CCM, PGA Master Professional
General Managers (GMs) of Private Country/Golf Clubs are normally NOT certified golf professionals and nor should they be. However, most private country clubs have at least one golf course that is part of their overall responsibility. I would argue that most members of private country/golf clubs join because of the golf course and golf related facilities (practice facility, teaching, coaching, team/league matches etc.) NOT for the food and beverage and/or other amenities. If this is true then private/golf club GMs need to be more golf savvy. This presentation does just that! It will show GMs how to maximize golf savvy without having to be a certified golf professional.
